Gold medalists

Cape Girardeau Public Schools is celebrating a historic victory at the 2025 SkillsUSA National Championships, held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. For the first time ever, Cape students brought home two national gold medals and one bronze — a remarkable showing on the national stage!

🥇 National Champions Crowned

  • Jonathan Dockins earned gold in the CNC 5-Axis Milling Programmer category, showcasing his exceptional precision and technical skill.

  • Ashley Smart and Cameron Forrester took first place in the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) competition, demonstrating life-saving knowledge and teamwork under pressure.

🥉 Bronze Medal Achievement

  • Jasmine Dickey and Abram Green earned bronze in Video Production, highlighting their creativity, storytelling, and production excellence.

These students competed against the best Career & Technical Education (CTE) talent from across the country. SkillsUSA is a national organization that empowers students to become world-class workers and leaders in their fields, combining industry partnerships with classroom training.

  • CNC 3-Axis Milling Programmer – Carson Besher: 22nd out of 31

  • Graphic Imaging Sublimation – Dakota Oseland: 4th

  • Interactive Application & Video Game Development – Finn Mayberry & Cameron Patterson: 14th out of 31

  • Photography – Colton Williams: 16th out of 31

  • Firefighting – Colton Poole: 6th out of 31
